The UNECE and Helsingborg are hosting the H22 +50 Session (31 May) and Dialogue of Eminent Experts on smart, sustainable, and inclusive cities (1 June). Cities have the power to drive the development the world needs. This two-day event invites the cities of the world to explore approaches that accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals at the local level.
The H22 +50 Session and Dialogue of Eminent Experts are organsied by UNECE (United Nations Economic Commission for Europe) in collaboration with the City of Helsingborg and the Global Utmaning foundation. This two-day event will focus on approaches to accelerate the work with the SDGs at the local level, including through the development of SDG Voluntary Local Reviews and the fostering of innovative urban financing.
The H22 +50 Session – a clear nod to the international environmental meeting Stockholm+50 – is an inclusive event for mayors and leaders from the business, civil, and academic sectors, together with specially invited guests. The Session aims to highlight the agency and power of cities, businesses, and civil society organisations to effect positive change at the local level.
The Dialogue is also open to other city representatives and both days will include presentations by eminent speakers from national and local governments, international organisations, and academia in Europe. It will provide a dynamic platform for exploring innovative solutions for SDGs at the city level and connect leading visionaries from different cities, countries and sectors, all committed to collective actions on the SDGs.
